FAQ
“Why are you selling?”
Building this van was a passion project—and one I poured countless hours, energy, and love into. Every detail, from the solar setup to the custom cabinetry, was designed to create a fully functional, beautiful, and off-grid-ready tiny home on wheels.
I built it with the intention of traveling full-time, and it’s absolutely ready for that lifestyle. But life took a different turn—new opportunities, shifting priorities, and some future plans that mean I won’t be using the van the way I originally imagined.
Rather than let it sit unused, I’d love to see it go to someone who’s ready to hit the road and make the most of it. Whether you’re looking for weekend escapes, full-time vanlife, or just a mobile home base, this van is ready for it all.
“Was this professionally built?”
This van was built as a collaborative project between myself and a close friend who is a skilled professional in carpentry and electrical systems. While I’m not a professional van builder by trade, I brought a ton of care, research, and hands-on work into the process — and every major system (electrical, solar, plumbing, carpentry) was either guided by or directly handled by my experienced friend.
We approached the build with the same level of attention and quality you’d expect from a professional conversion — using high-quality materials, overbuilding where it mattered, and ensuring everything is safe, functional, and built to last.
This isn’t a rushed DIY project — it’s a thoughtfully planned, carefully executed build that’s road-tested and ready for real adventure.
“Can I test drive it?”
Absolutely — serious buyers are welcome to test drive the van. I do require that I accompany you during the drive, just to ensure everything goes smoothly and to answer any questions you might have along the way.
Test drives can be scheduled in advance and typically take place on local roads so you can get a feel for how the van handles, drives, and performs.
“Is it still under warranty?”
The van is no longer under manufacturer warranty. That said, it has been well-maintained and recently inspected to ensure it's in excellent working condition. I'm happy to provide maintenance records and walk you through everything that’s been done to keep it road-ready and reliable.
“Has it passed inspection?”
Yes, the van has passed its most recent inspection and is fully road-legal. Everything is up to date, and there are no outstanding mechanical or registration issues. It's ready to hit the road as soon as you're ready to drive it.
“Can you deliver it to me?”
At this time, I’m not offering delivery. The van will need to be picked up in person at its current location. I’m happy to coordinate a time that works for you and assist however I can to make the process smooth—whether you're flying in, driving out, or arranging your own transport.
“How does the toilet work?”
The van is equipped with a Nature’s Head composting toilet, which is one of the most popular and reliable options for vanlife and off-grid living.
It separates liquids and solids, making it odor-free and low maintenance. Liquids are collected in a front container that can be emptied every few days, depending on usage. Solids are collected in a separate compartment and compost naturally with the help of coconut coir or peat moss. This part only needs to be emptied every few weeks to a month with regular use.
There’s also a built-in fan to vent air outside, helping keep everything fresh inside the van.
No chemicals, no plumbing, no smell — just a simple, eco-friendly solution that works great on the road.
“How long can it stay off-grid?”
This van is built to thrive off-grid — especially in sunny climates.
The electrical system is oversized and extremely capable, with a large solar array and a high-capacity battery bank. You’ll have plenty of power for lights, fridge, fans, charging devices, and more — for months at a time without needing to plug in.
As long as you're in an area with decent sun, the system will continuously recharge itself, so you'll rarely (if ever) run out of power.
The only thing you’ll need to keep an eye on is water — refilling the fresh tank and emptying the grey when needed. Other than that, this van is fully set up for long-term, off-grid freedom.
“Is it winterized?”
Yes, the van is fully winterized and built to handle cold-weather conditions. The plumbing system is protected against freezing, and the insulation throughout the walls, ceiling, and floor helps retain heat efficiently.
It also includes a reliable heating system to keep the interior warm and comfortable during winter months — whether you’re parked in the mountains or traveling through colder climates.
You’ll be ready for year-round adventure, no matter the season.
“How many people can sleep inside?”
The van comfortably sleeps 2 to 3 people. The main bed is designed for two adults, and there's additional space that can accommodate a small child or a third adult, depending on the setup.
It’s perfect for couples, solo travelers with extra space, or small families looking for adventure on the road.
“Is financing available?”
No, financing is not available. The van is sold for full payment upfront.
“Can I get it inspected by a mechanic?”
Absolutely! I encourage serious buyers to have the van inspected by a trusted mechanic before purchasing. I want you to feel confident and comfortable with your investment.
You’re welcome to bring a mechanic to check the vehicle at your convenience.
“Can I remove/add features?”
The van is being sold as-is, with all features included in the current build. No modifications, removals, or additions can be made before the sale.
“Can I rent it before buying?”
Unfortunately, renting the van before purchase is not available. The sale is for outright purchase only.
“Has it been smoked in?”
No, the van has never been smoked in. It’s a clean, fresh-smelling environment, perfect for anyone sensitive to smoke or allergies.
